Lithium deposits – Challenging geology for exploration and mining

The demand of the Europes´s industry for lithium is increasing with the production of electrical vehicles within the next years. A significant amount of this demand can be covered by production coming from the Alpine-Balkan-Carpathian-Dinaride region. The Lithium deposits of ABCD region are hosted by pegmatite and sedimentary rocks. The session addresses geological aspects of Li-deposits, their exploration, resource estimation and exploitation.
